Best Maui Wedding Day Ever

Best Maui Wedding Day Ever

Best Maui Wedding Day Ever

It was the best day ever and most perfect of all weddings!  A poised and elegant bride in a white princess dress.  An oceanfront grassy knoll with the ocean and island backdrop.  Fireworks in the darkened night and starry sky. The couple who are so in love that you could feel their energy when you got close. Family, friends, nieces, nephews, shy flower girls who hesitated before dropping a petal on the aisle, graceful junior bridesmaids, and truest of all friends maid of honor.  There was laughter, tears and joyful prancing and dancing.

You were on the dance floor whether you knew the song or not, no matter how young or how old. And the bride, she danced the first slow dance with her partner for life.  Then, she danced throughout the night – without stopping.

I, the hermit, danced the night away, under the starry wedding sky. It was the best feeling ever and the cure for whatever is ailing you.

Best Maui Wedding Day, ever!

Wildflowers, mix-matched fabrics, non-traditional foods, and vintage inspired decor. Boho calls for a laid back and comfortable vibe. Instead of going out of your comfort zone in a big, poofy, princess ball gown – make it simple in a long, flowy, lace or organza dress. Khakis and a white shirt are just fine for the men and definitely comfy and stylish.

Boho inspired locations can be anywhere outdoors – in a backyard, ranch, farm, luxury private estate, or vineyard. A great idea is live music during the ceremony; guitars, harps, ukuleles, whatever you like to set the mood of your guests. Simple yet elegant, you can have a wedding arch draped with various patterned fabrics and lined with colorful garden flowers and lots of greenery.

In right now, are turkish towels and embellished cushions which would be the cutest replacements for rows of chairs during the ceremony. For dinner make it fun and decorate with an assortment of vintage dishes and serving plates. Centerpieces and bouquets of grasses, roses, ferns, zinnias, sunflowers, hydrangeas, peonies, branches – in all different shapes and sizes of glass bottles and vases. Also, a vintage hair clip or floral headpiece is the perfect “something borrowed” addition to your look.

A simple bohemian wedding captures detail in all sorts of ways while ensuring a laid-back vibe and colorful schema.

When you think vintage weddings, what comes to mind? Some may say old, rusted, out-of-date, and frilly. Then there’s us wedding geeks that see the lacy, chic, and array of white tonal decor. With vintage inspiration there’s an endless amount of amazing ideas for any style or size wedding.

After reading this article, take a moment to close your eyes and imagine it.

Ladies…It’s your big day and you walk into the bridal suite to see nothing more than the most beautiful long, simple, lacy, off-white gown hanging from the curtain rod. Your veil is subtly lined with lace and lies gently along your back as you practice your walk down the aisle. Just below your dress sit your little white stiletto heels and a lacy white garter.

Men… As you enter the groom’s suite, lining the wall are linen khaki suits with white button down shirts – sleeves rolled. Sitting on the ground just below are dark brown oxfords and bold statement long socks. To the left you notice a table full of flowers: boutonnieres made of tiny garden roses, baby’s breath, hydrangeas and subtle green foliage.

After getting ready you take a peek at the wedding cake; a cute and simple three tiered white cake decorated with all sorts of colorful flowers. Surrounding the cake are lace-wrapped cupcakes, displayed over a draped lace table cloth.
It’s finally time to walk down the aisle. All eyes on you as you make your way toward the wedding arch draped and covered in assorted lace cloth. You won’t believe your eyes, it’s just what you wanted!

Maui Persian Wedding

Maui Persian Wedding

Hi Sandra!

Hope you’re having a great summer! I’m sure you’re super busy planning and coordinating lots of gorgeous summer weddings. I’ve been on a month long break from school and have done some wedding related fun activities and wanted to give you an update on a few things and throw in some ideas to see what you think.

A few weeks ago, my mom, dad and brother all went to LA to go dress shopping! My parents will likely not be able to come back again until next summer when the wedding is and I wanted to make sure they were included in my wedding dress shopping so we kind of got a head start on it. We went to a bunch of different boutiques and I was able to find a dress that we all fell in love with and have ordered it to be made! It should be ready in the Spring and then will need some alterations and hopefully be finalized a month or two before our wedding. I’ve attached a picture of it to this email for you to see! It’s a beautiful drop waist gown made by Winnie Couture. My mom is also looking into finding her veil from her wedding so I can wear it on my day! Exciting stuff!

I also got together with my girlfriends and asked them to be my bridesmaids. I painted and put together boxes and filled them with goodies (color samples for their bridesmaids dresses, champagne, nail polish, etc.) I’ve also included a picture of one of the boxes for you to see! So I will have 4 bridesmaids and a maid of honor. Michael will have 4 groomsmen and a best man, so a total of 10 people.

When my family was here we also talked about how we’d like the wedding to incorporate both American and Persian traditions and customs so I now have a better idea of what the Persian customs and practices are. We can, of course, talk about this in more detail whenever you see fit, but I’ll give you a quick idea of what we discussed.

In Iran, our custom is to set up a table with certain items that need to be present at the ceremony (decorated eggs- kind of like Easter!), certain fruits, flowers, sweets, candle, mirror, etc. The bride and groom sit at this little table while the Persian officiant reads over a script and describes the items. We talked about this a little bit and wanted to see what you thought about the idea of my grandpa and Eve both playing the role of the officiant and having my grandpa focus on the Persian traditions of the ceremony and Eve focus on the spiritual and American traditions of the wedding ceremony. We would definitely want to make sure this is ok with Eve and find a way to make everything flow well, but this is just a rough idea that we have so far. As far as the rest of the wedding, everything else will stay the same with no changes. We are thinking with this set up and also having 10 people in the wedding party, we might have to look into doing the ceremony in the big open lawn as opposed to the open deck upstairs. Let me know what you think.

Lastly, I am working on making save the date cards! I have bought white hard plastic luggage tags and am decorating them with pearls, lace and ribbons and putting in an insert with our save the date card. That way our guests can use the actual luggage tag when they fly to Hawaii next summer!

Oh my gosh! This was a long email. I apologize. Just lots of different ideas running through my head the past few weeks and I wanted to share them with you!

Maui Private Wedding

Maui Private Wedding

A Maui private wedding is unique and offers complete privacy for a customized wedding and event. Kukahiko Estate was the perfect venue for Greg and Burnett’s Hawaiian themed celebration on a private oceanfront lawn. It meant the world to them to share their special day with their closest friends and family. They are thankful for many things in life, but mostly for good wine and exquisite taste of friends.

The men selected a masculine navy blue to compliment the ocean and starry night sky. Their cake topper was a perfect resemblance of the two men on their wedding day. Their navy and khaki wedding attire represented their honest and simple life styles and the trust they have in one another. Their chemistry together was a perfect match and proves that science may be sensibly stylish!

It was an unforgettable Maui private wedding where not a single detail was spared and each moment was as heart fluttering as the next. It was a glorious celebration of love. At the end of the beautiful evening, their guests sent them off in their Maui roadster! Our couple is over the moon in excitement and ready to start their new journey together!
