A Maui pineapple wedding theme creates an elegant tropical setting for Belinda and Luke’s wedding at the Olowalu Plantation House. The Maui pineapple represents the sweet island history of the juicy fruit dribbling down your chin and hands like in heaven! The Maui Gold is incomparably sweet, juicy and low in acidity, developed over half-century of selective crossbreeding and utilizing sustainable agricultural practices such as composting, field rotation and water conservation. We love to eat pineapple on shish kebabs as well as with meats and vegetables. Pineapples are so delicious and sweet! Our wedding couple chose the sweetest Maui island fruit for their wedding them!
Congratulations Vishal and Erin at their Olowalu Plantation House Indian Wedding!
A beautiful, colorful, energetic wedding day for a lovely couple at their Olowalu Plantation House Indian Wedding celebration. Their two families joined in their celebration of LOVE. Indian wedding traditions were joyous and colorful! In the baraat, or groom’s procession, Vishal arrived to the ceremony on a decorated white horse. Guests dance around him to the beat of a dhol, an Indian drum. After that, the bride and her family greet the groom, and the couple exchanges floral garlands to wear around their necks to symbolize their acceptance of each other and joining of the families.
For the ceremony, the priest, groom, bride and bride’s parents sit beneath a beautifully decorated mandap, a canopy similar to a Jewish chuppah. The ceremony starts off with the kanya daan, in which the bride’s parents give her away. Then the couple joins hands and circles around a small, enclosed fire (the agni) in a ritual called the mangal phera.
Then the couple will take the saptapadi, or seven steps in a circle around the mundap, as they vow to support each other and live happily together. Our couple incorporated the Hawaiian lei ceremony into their Indian ceremony in a fun and creative way. The lei exchange brought about smiles and laughter from the families and friends.
The reception was very colorful with many flowers and Indian decor. The food included some Hawaiian luau style along with their Indian menu.
Purple weddings represent good judgment. It is the color of people seeking spiritual fulfillment. It is said if you surround yourself with purple you will have peace of mind. Purple is a good color to use in meditation.
Purple weddings symbolize magic, sexuality, nobility, stature, religion, piety, royalty and mystery. Being the combination of red and blue, the warmest and coolest colors, purple is believed to be the ideal color. Most children love the color purple. Purple is the color most favored by artists.
Purple is also a color that generates good chi. So, wherever you would like to add extra energy, consider adding purple. However, because it is a stimulating color, it’s better not to put purple in bathrooms and kitchens, where it can enhance the negative energies of these rooms.
Purple is a potent color. In Maui, purple weddings hold a special place, and a special meaning. It is said that Leonardo da Vinci believed meditating in a lavender or purple-colored light was improved by a factor of 10.
